PORTABLE MERCURY ANALYZER RA-82 "PROSPECTOR"
Description
RA-915+ Portable Mercury Vapor Analyzer
  • Ambient air and soil gas analysis
  • Rapid determination of mercury concentration at a measuring point
  • Low detection limit in air at 50 ng/m3
  • Wide dynamic measuring range (four orders of magnitude)
  • Discrete and continuous modes of operation
  • Easy to operate
  • Special design for field measurements
Principle of Operation

Is employed for measuring weight concentration of mercury, which is implemented using a double-beam optical scheme with analytical and reference cells. To minimize the detection limit, mercury preconcentration on a gold trap is used.

Method
Atomic absorption spectrometry
Application Samples
Pollution Control
  • Measuring weight concentration of mercury vapor in atmospheric and soil air, as well as in the air in residential and production areas
  • Detection and localization of indoor and outdoor mercury pollution
  • Monitoring the demercurization process
Geology and Geochemistry
  • Ore deposits survey using mercury haloes in soil gas

Selectivity of measurements may by affected by high air humidity or by some volatile chemical compounds. In the case of presence of organo-mercury species, the analyzer measures the total concentration of atomic and bound mercury.
