The DynamicOrgan® O2-Sensor Kit, developed in collaboration with PyroScience, allows for real-time, contactless, non-invasive detection of oxygen consumption inside an organ model such as lung, gut, or liver-on-chip.
The basis of the chip is Dynamic42’s 2-channel (BC002) Biochip. Three sensor spots are incorporated into the biochip, enabling oxygen measurement in the top and bottom channels. The top channel features a single sensor spot in the center of the top foil for general oxygen level measurement inside the channel. The bottom channel includes two sensor spots on the bottom foil: one positioned at the inlet and another at the outlet. This enables the calculation of oxygen consumption by the cells incorporated in the bottom channel. The oxygen meter (FirePlate by PyroScience) excites the oxygen-sensitive indicator (sensor spot) with its unique REDFLASH technology and detects the oxygen-dependent luminescence emission. The higher the oxygen content, the more quenching of the luminescent signal takes place, allowing for a precise calculation of the oxygen content in the channel of the biochip.
In addition to the base kit, you need a peristaltic pump and the measurement device for your oxygen sensor read-outs (FirePlate from PyroScience), plus a holding frame suitable to host 3 biochips in parallel.
