Fundamentals of RNG Sampling

Accurate field sampling is critical for reliable RNG laboratory analysis. Unlike natural gas, RNG sampling requires specialized techniques to ensure precision and compliance with industry standards. Proper sampling helps verify gas quality, protect pipeline integrity, and ensure safety.

Ohio Lumex and REEthink offer a 1.5-day Fundamentals of RNG Sampling program, combining classroom and hands-on training.

Participants will learn the seven key sampling methods used for trace constituent analysis, which include:

  • Bags (Tedlar, Foil)
  • High-Pressure Cylinders
  • SUMMA Canisters
  • Sorbent Traps
  • Impingers
  • Filters
  • Onsite Measurements (Temperature, Odors, Moisture, Dust, Liquids)

Additional training includes chain of custody procedures and sampling equipment best practices.
