Gas Testing for Gas Quality, Compliance, Equipment Specification and Process Control
Biogas, Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), and Natural Gas (NG) systems require accurate, timely and defensible laboratory data to meet pipeline gas quality specifications, comply with the EPA Renewable Fuel Standard (EPA RFS), qualifying for 45Z Clean Fuel Production Tax Credits, designing RNG upgrading systems, and optimizing processes.
Ohio Lumex provides comprehensive analytical laboratory services specifically tailored to meet these needs. Whether preparing gas for pipeline injection, validating upgrading system performance, complying with EPS RFS, and supporting 45Z qualification, the Ohio Lumex Analytical Laboratory performs analyses to accepted industry methods and approved international standards, and is an A2LA Accredited (Certificate #7105.01) and NELAP accredited laboratory with strict QA/QC guidelines and procedures.

Supporting Pipeline RNG Gas Quality Specifications
Supporting Pipeline RNG Gas Quality Specifications
RNG projects must meet strict pipeline RNG gas quality specifications for pre-injection approval and ongoing testing. Our accredited laboratory can perform all required analyses, communicate results, and provide any needed follow-up support.
Supporting EPA RFS Compliance
We provide all the required analyses, to the approved methods, to comply with the EPA Renewable Fuel Standard (EPA RFS).
Supporting Qualification for 45Z Production Tax Credits
To quality for 45Z Production Tax Credits, the US Treasury requires compliance with ASTM D8080. Similar to an pipeline RNG gas quality specification, the standard specified required testing and lists of approved methods. The Ohio Lumex Analytical Laboratory performs all required methods, including for particulates (ASTM D7651) and compressor oil (ASTM D8251).
Quality, Standards & Accreditation
Reliable results require more than instrumentation; they require controlled processes and documented quality systems. Ohio Lumex operates under established quality protocols to ensure defensible, repeatable analytical data.
