Instrument Support & Service
Lifecycle support and service for process and emissions monitoring systems
Ohio Lumex provides lifecycle support and service for monitoring systems used in both process and emissions applications. Our team supports commissioning and maintenance of field-installed systems, as well as service, calibration, and repair of portable and laboratory-based instruments. By combining field support with instrument service capabilities, we help ensure reliable performance, consistent operation, and long-term data quality across a range of industrial measurement applications.
Commissioning
Ohio Lumex supports instrument commissioning to ensure monitoring systems are properly configured and operating as intended from the start. Our field service engineers work on-site to verify system performance and confirm that instruments are configured to meet application requirements for both process monitoring and emissions testing.
Calibration & Maintenance
We provide calibration and preventative maintenance services to help maintain data quality and long-term instrument performance. Services are performed either on-site for installed systems or at our facility for instruments returned for service, depending on system type and application requirements.
Troubleshooting & Repair
Ohio Lumex provides troubleshooting and repair services for monitoring systems requiring evaluation or service. Our team works to identify root causes, restore proper operation, and minimize downtime, with support provided both in the field and through in-house service.
Training & Support
In addition to field service support, Ohio Lumex provides operator training and ongoing technical support to help customers effectively use and maintain their monitoring systems. This includes guidance on system operation, maintenance practices, and application-specific considerations, whether supporting installed systems or instruments serviced through our facility.
Recommended Service Approach
Ohio Lumex recommends a proactive approach to instrument support that includes proper installation, routine calibration, and preventative maintenance to ensure reliable long-term operation. Monitoring systems used for both process and emissions measurements must consistently produce accurate, defensible data, making regular service and verification critical.
Service requirements vary depending on the instrument and application. Continuous monitoring systems, such as the 915J, typically follow a structured maintenance schedule with defined service intervals and are supported in the field, while other systems are serviced at our facility based on usage, operating conditions, and project needs.
915J Continuous Mercury Monitor
Maintenance is performed according to a structured service schedule and is typically carried out in the field for installed systems. Service includes routine inspection, filter and scrubber replacement, calibration verification, and periodic component replacement based on operating conditions. Detailed maintenance schedules and recommended spare parts are provided to support ongoing system performance and reliability.
OLM30B Sorbent Trap Sampling System
Recommended service is typically performed at the Ohio Lumex facility and includes:
- Inspection of all system components
- Calibration verification of mass flow controllers using simulated flue gas
- Mass flow controller calibration certificate
M324 Sorbent Trap Analysis System
Recommended annual calibration and service is typically performed at the Ohio Lumex facility and includes:
- General system evaluation and adjustments
- System deep cleaning and furnace seal replacement
- Spectrometer battery replacement (RA-915+ models only)
- Linearization and NIST-traceable spectrometer calibration
- Certificate of calibration and instrument operability
- Filter assembly reload service
Additional services are available to support regulatory compliance programs, including Method 30B / PS-12B certification testing.
Ohio Lumex works with customers to define service intervals appropriate for each instrument and application, helping ensure monitoring systems remain reliable, properly maintained, and capable of producing high-quality data across both process and emissions measurement programs.
