Industrial facilities increasingly face regulatory and community pressures to monitor and reduce hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). Metals like arsenic, lead, and chromium, often emitted in trace amounts, can pose serious health risks with long-term exposure. For facilities near residential areas, fenceline monitoring becomes critical for assessing potential community impacts and demonstrating compliance with environmental expectations.

That’s where the Ei410 Sorbent Trap Sampler steps in – it simplifies metals monitoring.

Built for the Real-World Demands of Fenceline Monitoring

The Ei410 was designed specifically for community exposure assessment of metal hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). Whether you’re conducting a short-term investigation or a long-term compliance campaign, the Ei410 offers the flexibility and performance needed in the field.

Each system includes:

  • Vacuum pump
  • Flow controller
  • Mass flow meter
  • Volume totalizer
  • Easy-to-use interface

Advantages of the Ei410:

  • Capable of measuring analytes not possible with any other methodology
  • Simple, reliable, and cost effective
  • Extremely sensitive
  • No hazardous chemicals
  • Easy sample handling and shipping (no hazmat required)

How the Ei410 Works

To begin sampling, a sorbent trap is inserted into the unit and the desired sampling volume or duration is set. The sampler will automatically stop when the target is reached. The trap can then be removed and shipped to a qualified lab, such as our Ohio Lumex Analytical Laboratory, for analysis.

Versatility: One Sampler, Many Pollutants

The Ei410 supports a broad range of analytes, making it a versatile tool for industrial air monitoring:

  • Ammonia
  • Benzene
  • Dioxins and furans
  • Ethylene oxide
  • Formaldehyde
  • Hydrogen bromide
  • Hydrogen chloride
  • Hydrogen cyanide
  • Hydrogen sulfide
  • Mercury
  • Metal HAPS (see below for more details)
  • PCBs & pesticides
  • VOCs

Sorbent Traps for Metal HAPs Fenceline Monitoring

Our newly released HAP Metals Sorbent Traps bring advanced trace-level metals analysis to ambient air and fenceline applications, something not easily achieved with traditional methods. Originally developed through EPA SBIR research for stack emissions testing, these traps have been adapted for ambient air applications. They provide accurate, multi-metal sampling for hazardous air pollutants in fenceline monitoring environments.

  • Targets Hazardous metals such as: Arsenic (As), Beryllium (Be), Cadmium (Cd), Cobalt (Co), Chromium (Cr), Manganese (Mn), Nickel (Ni), Lead (Pb), Antimony (Sb), Selenium (Se), and more
  • Ideal for Fenceline Monitoring: supports up to 7-day continuous sampling
  • Extreme Sensitivity: Accurate down to 1.0 ng/m3 with a 7 day sample
  • Simple sample handling: No hazardous chemicals making sample handling and shipping safe and simple
  • Developed Under EPA SBIR: Built on proven technology designed for regulatory stack testing, adapted for ambient applications
  • Laboratory Analysis: Performed using ICP-MS in accordance with EPA Method 6020B

Let’s Simplify Your Monitoring Program

Whether you’re navigating community concerns, preparing for future regulatory shifts, or simply enhancing your environmental monitoring capabilities, the Ei410, now with support for Metal HAPs, delivers the performance and ease-of-use you need.
