Dry Calibration Standards

Avoid challenges associated with liquid standards and
pipetting

Dry standards are foolproof vials filled with impregnated activated carbon spiked with a NIST-traceable mass of mercury. They are dispensed by simply opening the vial and pouring its contents into a ladle. Standards can be created at custom mass levels based on your calibration needs, and each lot includes Ohio Lumex Chain of Custody Documentation.

Our line of Dry Calibration Standards is specifically designed for calibration of the M324 Sorbent Trap Analysis System.

Features

Dry Standard Advantages:

  • Extremely accurate

  • Save time and reduce frustration

  • Easy to mobilize and transport without safety concerns

  • No need to purchase calibration carbon

  • Non-hazardous handling, shipping, and disposal

Liquid Standard Disadvantages:

  • Must be delivered via a pipette

  • Must be checked regularly using a balance

  • Must be verified by a NIST traceable mass

  • Requires training and proper technique to deliver the correct volume

  • Must ensure the correct amount of carbon in the ladle

  • Must verify that all of the liquid is dispensed

  • Must ensure no drops from the side of pipette fall into the ladle

  • Classified as Hazardous Material Shipment
